Global Shipping Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the GlobalShipping tracking platform at global-shipping.co.

2. What data we collect

2.1 Data you provide

  • Tracking numbers you enter into the search form.
  • Contact details (name, email) if you contact our support team.

2.2 Data collected automatically

  • IP address and approximate geolocation (country/city level).
  • Browser type, operating system, and device information.
  • Pages visited and time spent on the Service (via server logs and analytics).
  • Cookie identifiers (see our Cookie Policy).

2.3 Data we receive from partners

When you have placed an order with one of our merchant partners, we may receive your name, delivery address, and order reference in order to display your tracking information.

3. Legal basis for processing

  • Contract performance — to provide the tracking Service you request.
  • Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve the Service and to detect fraudulent or abusive access.
  • Legal obligation — where required by law (e.g. tax or anti-fraud obligations).
  • Consent — for analytics cookies where required by applicable law.

4. How we use your data

  • Displaying shipment tracking information in response to your query.
  • Operating, maintaining, and improving the Service.
  • Detecting, preventing, and investigating fraud or security incidents.
  • Responding to support requests.
  • Complying with legal obligations.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

  • Logistics partners — to resolve tracking queries.
  • IT service providers (hosting, database, analytics) acting as data processors under appropriate agreements.

6. International transfers

Our infrastructure is hosted within the UK and EEA. If data is transferred outside these regions, we ensure adequate safeguards are in place (e.g. UK IDTA, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or equivalent).

7. Retention

Tracking query logs are retained for a maximum of 12 months. Order-linked personal data is retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the tracking service and comply with legal obligations (typically 6 years for financial records).

8. Your rights (UK GDPR / GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification of inaccurate data.
  • Erasure ("right to be forgotten") where processing is no longer justified.
  • Restriction of processing in certain circumstances.
  • Data portability for data processed on the basis of consent or contract.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the legal basis.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption, access controls, and regular security reviews.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on the Service. The date at the top of this page indicates when the notice was last revised.
